I received a call from a distressed business owner. His bookkeeper of 13 years had been on sick leave for a year and he felt it was time to move on. He informed me he had purchased a new service system but it wasn’t integrating with Quickbooks. He had a negative million dollars in sales and could not determine what was causing the discrepancy.

As I reviewed his books, I prayed for insight and was able to identify the issue. I had a fleeting thought that if I revealed the solution there was no guarantee I would secure the account. My compassion won out and I scheduled a Zoom meeting with the business owner. I guided him through a real-time order using the information I provided. This resolved the discrepancy and he entrusted me with his account.

Often business owners become frustrated and worried when there is a discrepancy in their cash flow. They need a bookkeeper who is compassionate, trustworthy and capable of bringing order out of chaos. This is my calling and I delight in serving small businesses.
